Akron City Council Announces

2025-2026 Neighborhood Partnership Program Grant Recipients

AKRON, Ohio, Jan. 6, 2026 Akron City Council has announced the recipients of the 2025–2026 Neighborhood Partnership Program (NPP) Grant Awards, awarding $150,000 to support community-based projects across the city’s neighborhoods.

Funding was distributed equally across all 10 City wards, with $15,000 allocated per ward. Grants ranging from $3,000 to $15,000 were awarded to 32 nonprofit organizations, including multi-cultural organizations, youth organizations, faith-based organizations, and neighborhood associations.

“These grants are more than financial support—they represent a vote of confidence in residents and organizations who are committed to strengthening Akron’s neighborhoods,” said Council President Margo Sommerville. “The Neighborhood Partnership Program empowers communities to lead solutions that improve quality of life where people live.”

Funded projects include food pantry support, community cultural events, youth empowerment initiatives, neighborhood cleanups, safety initiatives, and other efforts that demonstrate public benefit and active community involvement. All projects are expected to be completed within one year.
