Sara Biviano began working for the City of Akron in 2002. She has worked in the Council office since 2009. She became Deputy Clerk of Council in 2017 and Clerk of Council in November 2021.
She is a member of the Northeast Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (NEOMCA), Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (OMCA), and is the current President of the Tri County Clerk Association.
She achieved her Certified Municipal Clerk Designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in November 2020.
Sara works hard to ensure smooth operations of the office, communicating with Council members, City departments, and residents while ensuring work is completed within the guidelines of Municipal Code and Council Rules.
She is proud to have contributed to the creation of the Agenda Online Portal and the Public Access Viewer, where residents can view legislation and meeting minutes, as well as creating a solution for hybrid meetings so individuals can join in person in Council Chambers or remotely.
She also contributes to information shared in the Legislative Spotlight, sharing highlights from the Council's legislative agenda and sharing the definitions of and information about commonly used terms.
