AKRON CITY COUNCIL HOSTS AT-LARGE TOWN HALL
Community Invited to Share Input on At-Large Council Seat Vacancy
Akron, Ohio, March 31, 2026 —Akron City Council invites all residents to attend a community Town Hall to provide input on the appointment of a new At-Large Council Representative. The Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Firestone Community Learning Center (CLC).
This Town Hall is being held in anticipation of filling the At-Large Council seat being vacated by Councilman Jeff Fusco, whose last day of service will be March 31, 2026, after an extraordinary 38 years of dedicated public service to the City of Akron.

According to Section 28 of the Charter, Akron City Council has 30 days to appoint a new Council Representative. The Town Hall represents an important opportunity for community engagement. Council members want to hear directly from Akron residents about the qualities, priorities, and vision they would like to see in a new At-Large Council Representative. Resident input will help guide the Council’s appointment process.
We encourage all residents to attend and make their voices heard. This is your community — and your voice matters in shaping its future leadership.
HOW TO APPLY
Akron residents interested in applying for the vacant At-Large Council seat are encouraged to submit a letter of interest and resume to the Clerk of Council no later than:

Applicants should be residents of the City of Akron and must meet all eligibility requirements as outlined in the City Charter. Questions regarding the application process may be directed to the Clerk of Council at the email address above.
