Ward 4 Council Representative

Russ Neal (D) was elected to represent Ward 4 on Nov. 3, 2009. He is a 1980 Buchtel High School graduate and has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing from Ohio University. He also is a graduate of the East Akron Neighborhood Development’s Applied Leadership on the Neighborhood Level program. He owns Graffiti Print Shop and unity365.com.

Neal  serves on the Parks & Recreation and Health & Social Services Committee. His affiliations include: founder and past president of the Buchtel High School Alumni Association Inc. (BHSAA); board member of the Buchtel High School Alumni Association Inc.; board member of Project Grad Akron; board member of Akron Inner City Soccer Association; board member of South Street Ministries; deacon at Prince of Peace Baptist Church; lifetime member of BHSAA Inc.; lifetime member of NAACP; charter member of 100 Black Men of America Inc., Akron Chapter; Buchtel High School PTA and Akron Chamber of Commerce.

Russ Neal’s Ward 4 meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month, 6:30 p.m., at Lawton Street Community Center, 1225 Lawton St.
