Voters to decide on natural gas aggregation

December 01, 2015

Akron will ask voters to decide in the March 2016 election if they want the city to pursue a gas aggregation plan for residents. Gas aggregation would allow the city to negotiate on behalf of all residents for the lowest-priced natural gas rate. Residents would have the choice of accepting the rate or opting out of the plan. Akron is one of only a few Summit County communities without a gas aggregation plan.
