Texting and driving ban, home seller disclosure law pass

March 12, 2013

Texting and driving is now against the law in Akron. City Council approved an ordinance Monday evening that makes sending, reading or writing a text message or accessing the Internet while driving a minor misdemeanor for the first offense with increasingly harsher penalties for subsequent offenses. Council also approved an ordinance requiring homeowners selling without a real estate agent to disclose any housing code violations on their property to potential homebuyers.
