Council passed two resolutions in support of state tax credits for two affordable housing projects in the city’s Lane-Wooster and North Hill areas. One of the projects is being developed by the East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation and American Community Developers. They propose to rehabilitate 209 one- and two-bedroom rental units in Spring Hill Apartments. The other project is called The Villas at San Tomasso. It is a $10 million proposal by Testa Enterprises to build 50 four- and five-bedroom apartments adjacent to Summa St. Thomas Hospital for resettled refugees. Both tax credit proposals are subject to state approval.
