State pays to improve Akron roadways

June 14, 2016

The State of Ohio will pay 80 percent of the costs for several state roadway resurfacing and bridge maintenance projects within city limits this summer. Council approved paying a 20 percent share to resurface Tallmadge Avenue between Main Street and State Route 8. A similar agreement for repairs to State Routes 162 and 261 was placed on the consent agenda, which is routinely passed the following week. Council also passed a resolution to improve Hampton Ridge Drive off Smith Road. Homeowners petitioned the repairs.
