An ordinance allowing the city to hire a demolition company to raze Rolling Acres Mall was approved by Council. The demolition is being fast-tracked because of concerns for public safety. Council also passed a resolution urging the city administration to find funding for tasers for every police patrol officer. Police officials said they need approximately 30 additional tasers for the patrol division. Monday's meeting was the last City Council meeting until September 12 as Council takes its Summer recess.
