The redevelopment of the former Goodyear World Headquarters into a lifestyle center named The East End took another step forward with Council’s approval of new zoning for the northwest side of the campus. The developers requested the zoning change, from industrial to planned urban district, for properties on River and Hart Streets so they will have more flexibility in its re-use. The East End redevelopment includes retail, office, hotel, residential and medical facilities. Council also approved conditional use zoning on Triplett Boulevard that will allow the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18, to build new offices.
