Rezoning approvals could reshape Wallhaven

October 20, 2015

Seven ordinances amending zoning in the Wallhaven Neighborhood Business District were approved by Council last night, paving the way for Whole Foods to replace West Point Market and for a major increase of commercial and retail businesses in the area. The new zoning affects West Market Street north of its intersection with West Exchange Street and Hawkins Avenue, and expands Wallhaven from its original 17 acres to 110 acres.
