City Council approved legislation at Monday’s council meeting to give 18 city-owned houses to three non-profit neighborhood development corporations that will renovate or rebuild the houses. The houses were purchased by the city within its federally-funded Neighborhood Stabilization Program. When renovations are completed, the houses will be sold to low-income families.
Also Monday, Council approved legislation that will allow the Arlington Church of God to build an addition to its property. The church at 539 Arlington Street plans to build a daycare and additional facilities for youth programs.
