City Council approved legislation that will allow a new interactive museum for children to open its doors at Lock 3 this summer. The Akron Children's Museum will be housed on the ground floor of the O'Neil's parking deck where Akron historical artifacts were previously displayed. The concept was proven this past winter when thousands of citizens visited a temporary museum that was set up at Lock 3 during Winter Fest. The new permanent museum is slated to open in July.
