The state may allow the sale of medical marijuana, but it won't be allowed in Akron until city officials have time to review the new Ohio Medical Marijuana Law and come up with an acceptable plan for cultivation and sales within city limits. Council agreed to a one-year freeze proposed by Mayor Dan Horrigan to consider how the city may regulate medical marijuana. Council also began discussing legislation that will significantly change retiree health care coverage. A special meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 15 at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers to discuss the proposed legislation.
