City Council passed legislation that will allow the city to buy and sell land in the Edgewood Urban Renewal Area so that a private developer can build a new Dollar Tree store. The store will be the second new retail development in the area, which had not had an operating retail store since 1968. “This is big for the Edgewood community, especially those who lack transportation. It will bring 15 new jobs to the neighborhood as well as access to reasonably-priced items,” said Margo Sommerville, Ward 4 Council Representative.
