Council President Garry Moneypenny read a proclamation naming January Human Trafficking Awareness Month at Monday evening's Council meeting. He called human trafficking a form of "modern-day slavery," and said there are more than 1,700 victims annually in Ohio whose average age is only 13. "We always think this is happening in other countries, but it is happening right here," said Moneypenny. In other news, Council approved the sale of 8 acres to the Gardner Pie Company on Logan Parkway to allow for future expansion.
