Fusco named Council President

June 01, 2015

At-large Representative Jeff Fusco was elected Council President on the day former President Garry Moneypenny began serving as Mayor. The election took place during a special lunchtime session of Council. Fusco said he would nurture a new spirit of respect and courtesy among Council members. The Committee on Committees met after Fusco’s appointment and named Ward 8 Representative Marilyn Keith to succeed Fusco’s as Chair of the powerful Planning Committee. The President of Council cannot serve on a standing committee. It also created a new Green Committee chaired by Ward 1 Representative Rich Swirsky.
