Food truck operators and the East Akron Community House will wait at least another week to learn the fate of legislation affecting them. An ordinance that will allow food trucks to operate in the downtown area with restrictions is still under discussion in the Planning Committee. Committee Chair Jeff Fusco explained the legislation to the committee Monday and asked members take a week to consider their vote. Council President Garry Moneypenny asked for time on legislation to provide funding for EACH pending the report of a special committee of community leaders who were asked by the city to evaluate operations at EACH.
