The program co-created by City Council and The University of Akron Law School to help convicted felons clear their records was given $25,000 by Council to continue operating another year. The Expungement Program provides legal assistance to felons who have served their sentences. The goal is to make them employable by clearing their records. Almost 300 Akron residents attended the two most recent informational meetings about the program. Since its inception two years ago, 88 felons have had their records expunged.
