City Council began its review of Akron's proposed budget on Monday. Council met before its meeting to go over the budget line-by-line, then held a public hearing during the council meeting. No one spoke for or against the proposed budget. Council will meet on the budget again next Monday at 4 p.m. and is expected to pass the budget the following Monday. The largest expense in the proposed $218 million budget is $102 million for the sewer separation project. Council also passed a resolution congratulating Judi Beverly Hill for her election as President of the Akron Chapter of the NAACP.
