Council makes safety its priority

With body cameras and new handguns already on the way for police, Council gave a nod to legislation Monday that will add some new body armor and ammunition for police as well as new equipment for the fire department and repairs to 50 broken or damaged fire hydrants. Public Safety Committee Chair Donnie Kammer said the repairs and purchases were necessary to ensure that public safety is not compromised.
