July 10, 2012

Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic has a new department to address quality of life issues and respond to citizen complaints. The Department of Neighborhood Assistance, which will be headed by former Council Representative and Clerk of Council John Valle, won the approval of City Council at Monday evening's meeting. Council also passed resolutions opposing a bill that would eliminate Saturday mail delivery and affect how 40 million Americans get their mail, congratulating LeBron James for his accomplishments during the 2011-2012 basketball season, and urging the Summit County Board of Elections to establish an early voting location.
