City Council Honors Akron’s Own James Ingram

On March 4, 2019, City Council passed an ordinance honoring American singer, songwriter, record producer and instrumentalist James Ingram by designating a portion of Fuller Street as James Ingram Way. Ingram was born in Akron, Ohio, where he attended Akron’s East High School. James was nominated for 14 Grammys and took home two trophies throughout his decades long career. City Council expresses its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of James Ingram on his recent passing. Last night members of his family gathered to celebrate James and his roots in the City of Akron.
