2019 Summer Food Service Program to be Authorized by City Council

April 16, 2019

A contract between the Director of Neighborhood Assistance and the Akron City School District will be approved by City Council, with next week’s consent agenda, for the 2019 Summer Food Service Program. The program, which served almost 80,000 meals last year, was created to connect children from low-income families to the crucial nutrition they need. City Council’s support of the program benefits children in Akron, ranging in age from 1-18, by providing access to the healthy food they need during the summer months.
