Tara Mosley-Samples (D) was elected in November 2005. She is chair of the Housing Committee and serves on the Parks & Recreation and Public Service Committees.
Mosley-Samples is a graduate of the Academy of Court Reporting, Paralegal Studies with a Minor in Business Administration and The University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Minor in Marketing. Her past employment includes Akron Municipal Court bailiff; White Hat Management board relations liaison; and Parms Law Firm office manager. Her civic memberships and affiliations include National League of Cities Public Safety & Crime Prevention Steering Committee 2014; elected to the Ohio Delegation 2012; Ohio Democratic Party member; Democratic National Committee member; Emily's List member; National Paralegal Association member; and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
Tara Mosly-Samples’ Ward 5 meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at EANDC, 550 S. Arlington St., or Findley CLC, 65 West Tallmadge Ave., depending upon the month. Samples also hosts a "Tea with Tara" on the first Saturday of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. at locations throughout Ward 5.

The Ward 5 annual "Coat Giveaway for the Homeless" will be held on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, 3-4 p.m. at Grace Park.
