Donnie Kammer (D) is a member of Akron Board of Realtors® and a Licensed Realtor®. Born June 2, 1975, he graduated from Garfield High School, attended the Police Academy, and graduated from Hondros College of Business’ Real Estate Program. Kammer was elected to council in November 2011. He is chair of the Public Safety Committee, vice chair of the Public Service Committee, and serves on the Planning, Parks & Recreation, Housing, Economic Development and Green/Sustainability Committees.
Kammer serves on the Joint Economic Development District (JEDD) Board, Code Enforcement Board, Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board, Akron Blind Center Board and Executive Committee, and the Voluntary Peace Officer Dependents Board. A member of the Summit County Leadership Class of 2011, he writes and publishes “My Neighborhood, Our Akron,” the Firestone Park Newsletter and Ward 7 Neighborhood Watch Newsletter and he is the founder and president of the Firestone Park Neighborhood Watch Program. Other public service includes Firestone Park Elementary P.T.A., Firestone Park Garden Club Advisory Board, Firestone Park YMCA Advisory Board, First Book of Greater Akron Advisory Board and the Summit County Neighborhood Leadership Steering Committee Advisory Board.
He hosts monthly ward meetings at Firestone Park Community Center, 1480 Girard Street, on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. He also hosts a monthly "Coffee with the Councilman" meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the Firestone Park Community Center. Council Representative Kammer does not host ward meetings in August, November or December.
