Robocop to join Akron SWAT
Akron’s SWAT team is adding a new member that specializes in being first in - last out. AVATAR Micro is a small, rugged tactical robot designed to be the first responder in dangerous situations. It provides eyes, ears and a voice for police who can remain out of harm’s way. City Council approved accepting a grant from Summit County Emergency Management Agency that will allow APD to purchase the robot.
