Apart from the Committee on Committees, there are nine standing committees of Council and special committees are created as needed. Read below to learn more about each committee's responsibilities and members.
The President of Council is an ex-officio member of all standing committees. New legislation being discussed in committees is listed in Council Agendas.
Committee on Committees The Committee on Committees consists of the five members of council with the most seniority, who select the members to serve on all standing Council committees.

Rules The Rules Committee adopts the Rules of Procedure for Council, sets times for City Council meetings and accepts council member resignations.
